            WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED ABOUT YOU?

The personal information that the RIYC collects/holds about you may include the following:

 

  • ØContact information that you have submitted to us through the “Becoming a Member” section on our website (www.riyc.ie), or which has been received by us through email, telephone or other communication. This information includes:

    • Membership you are applying for

WHY WE COLLECT THIS INFORMATION

  • To assess your membership query and to make contact with you with regard to this application;
  • To respond to any comments, you submit to us and to communicate with you in relation to our services;
  • We may use your Data to comply with any legal obligations and to send you information relating to events and services which may be of interest to you;
  • If you consent to the use of your data for marketing purposes, please tick the relevant box situated where we collect your data.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES

  • In order to assess your application for Membership, your Membership data is initially shared with certain Committee Members for approval for ballot or for Membership. If a ballot is necessary, your Membership data is shared with all current members (except contact details) until the ballot is complete and the vote is taken.
  • If a ballot is not necessary, your name and address, occupation and proposer information is shared with all current members until successful election. Once your Membership application is complete, your Membership data is no longer shared with other Members without your expressed consent. 
  • Your personal data may also be disclosed to our IT, cloud and email service providers.
  • Where the RIYC discloses your personal information to third parties we ensure that we have an appropriate contract in place that will protect your personal information and complies with our data protection obligations.

 

ONLINE PAYMENTS

 

Members can pay their subscriptions, event entry fees and make on account payments on our website. The online forms on this site allow you to send us information relating to your payment or to contact us directly.

 

Credit / Debit card information is not entered or retained on this site but is securely transferred to Realex/Global Payments a Secure online payments provider.

 

Subscription fee refunds for member resignations will only be made at the discretion of the Club Membership Committee.

 

Refunds for event entry fees paid will be made in full provided the required cancellation notice as detailed on booking form is given by the entrant. Refunds will also be made on the cancellation of any event by the Club or in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the Officers of the Club.

 

 

            HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR

We retain your information only for as long as necessary in the context of the relevant purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Your personal data will be held until such time as your membership application has been considered by the RIYC. If your application is successful, your personal data will be held in accordance with the retention periods as set out in our Members Privacy Notice. If your application is not successful, the RIYC will not retain your personal data and it will be destroyed.

 

SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

The RIYC is committed to protecting the security of your personal data. Your personal data is held on secure servers hosted by our IT service providers. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted on our website. Any submission of personal data is at your own risk.
